Morobe Province Papua New Guinea
Huon Gulf District is a vibrant and diverse region composed of three Local Level Governments (LLGs):
1. Wampar LLG
2. Salamaua LLG
3. Morobe LLG
Together, these LLGs span coastal plains, mountainous interiors, and maritime villages—each with unique development needs and cultural identities.

Landscape: Maritime coastline
Village Access: Canoes & Outboard Motor (OBM) boats

District Overview
The Huon Gulf District’s development priorities are strategically aligned with the Kundu Vision 2048 of the Morobe Provincial Government, and guided by the national framework of Papua New Guinea’s Medium Term Development Plan IV (2023–2027).
By advancing locally grounded initiatives across its three LLGs—Wampar, Salamaua, and Morobe—the district contributes meaningfully to national goals in infrastructure, service delivery, and inclusive growth. These priorities reflect Huon Gulf’s commitment to long-term transformation, public engagement, and sustainable development.
