The Huon Gulf District Development Authority (HGDDA) is the statutory body mandated to lead, coordinate, and oversee development across the Huon Gulf District in Morobe Province. Established under the District Development Authority Act, the HGDDA unifies political leadership, administrative systems, and community representation to deliver effective, transparent, and people‑centred development.
The Authority ensures that district priorities align with national frameworks such as PNG Vision 2050, Medium Term Development Plan (MTDP III & IV), PNG Development Strategic Plan, and the Morobe Provincial Government’s Kundu Vision 2048—creating a seamless pathway from local aspirations to national progress.

Our office is responsible for:
- Planning, financing, and implementing district development programs
- Coordinating service delivery across all sectors
- Monitoring and evaluating project performance
- Ensuring alignment between LLG priorities and district-wide development goals
- Strengthening partnerships with government agencies, development partners, churches, NGOs, and the private sector
This mandate positions the HGDDA as the central engine driving sustainable development throughout Wampar, Salamaua, and Morobe LLGs.
